Studio Booking & Rates:
What are your hourly and block rates for Studio A & Studio B?
Rates for studio rental vary by the scope of your project. Studio A is available in full-day (10 hr) blocks only. Studio B can be booked hourly (2 hr minimum) or by the day. Please reach out with project details via our contact page for an exact quote.
Do you rates include a Drop of Sun in-house engineer?

Studio A is available exclusively with a Drop of Sun engineer. Sessions can be booked with either a lead engineer or an assistant engineer, depending on your project’s needs.

Studio B can be rented with a Drop of Sun engineer or as a dry rental (bring your own engineer). If you choose the dry rental option, a Drop of Sun engineer or intern will be available during the first hour to assist with setup, answer questions, and troubleshoot any technical issues before turning the session over to your team.
Does my session include mixing/mastering?
No, mixing and mastering services are offered separately and rates are dependent on the scope of your project. At the end of your recording session we will provide you with an organized ProTools session and audio files.
How should I prepare for my session?
Before your session, we’ll connect you with your engineer to communicate your goals, answer questions, and confirm logistics.
Are there any discounts for longer sessions like a studio lockout?
Studio lockout rates are available on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss your project and receive a customized quote.
Mixing & Mastering Services:
What are your mixing & mastering rates?
Mixing and mastering rates are dependent on the scope of your project. instrumentation and production needed, deliverables requested, turnaround time, and artist involvement.

Internships & Employment:

No, we’re not hiring for full- or part-time positions. Engineers interested in renting studio space should contact us about their project.

How long do internships last at the studio?
The duration of this internship position is tailored to the individual. Internships generally last no longer than 90 days, with periodic check-ins.
Payment & Invoicing:
Do I need to pay a deposit to reserve my booking?
Yes, we require a 50% non-refundable deposit when booking a session. Deposits do apply to your final invoice total.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, check, Credit Card, Bank Transfer, Venmo, or Paypal.
General:
What are the differences between Studio A and Studio B?
Studio A is our larger live room and control room, designed for full-band tracking and larger recording sessions. With two isolation rooms and a spacious recording environment, it delivers a full, natural room sound while maintaining excellent control and separation.
Studio B is a more intimate studio, ideal for overdubs, vocals, mixing, and smaller recording sessions. It features a dedicated control room and a single isolation booth, providing a focused, flexible space for detailed production work.
Where do I park?
Free parking is available at the back of our building directly in front of our basement door, or on Haywood Rd. Please note the gravel lot next door is a paid lot.

Will someone help me set up my session if I’m bringing my own or coming in as a Guest engineer?
If you choose the dry rental option (bring your own or engineer yourself), a Drop of Sun engineer or intern will be available during the first hour to assist with setup, answer questions, and troubleshoot any technical issues before turning the session over to your team.
Do you give tours of the studio?

To maintain a clean and focused working environment for everyone, we don’t allow pets in the studio.
